Once you’ve installed the app, open it and click on the “Register” button. The whole process will take just a few minutes. NB! You need to be able to authenticate your Smart-ID account with an Estonian, Latvian or Lithuanian social security number / personal identification number.

Smart-ID for under 18 yo

Yes, children can also use Smart-ID – but their accounts need to be authenticated by a parent or guardian. Read about Smart-ID for minors.

Smart-ID for foreigners

You do not need to be a citizen in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania to use Smart-ID – as long as you have your personal ID-number. Read about Smart-ID for foreigners.
