Smart-ID+ is designed to protect you from social-engineering and phishing scams by making sure that only you can start and confirm each login or transaction — directly inside your Smart-ID app. Be sure to always verify that the page where you start your activities is trustworthy!
Smart-ID+ no longer relies on entering your personal ID code on a website. Instead, the login session is securely linked to your Smart-ID app, either by scanning a QR code or through a direct app-to-app connection. This makes it much harder for fraudsters to trick you into confirming something you didn’t start yourself.
You may encounter Smart-ID+ in one of these ways:
1) QR-code login (cross-device)
If you are logging in on a computer and see a dynamic QR code, open the Smart-ID app, scan the QR code with the in-app camera, and confirm with PIN1. This ensures the login session is securely tied to your device. Watch the video here.
2) App-to-App login (on the same phone)
If you are logging in on your phone (in a browser or inside an app), tap the Smart-ID login option. The Smart-ID app will open automatically, and you can confirm the login with PIN1 — no ID code needed. Watch the video here.
These methods make logging in faster, more convenient, and better protected against phishing.
