Frequently Asked Questions

Keeping your Smart-ID app regularly updated helps to ensure that your data is protected and that the app works smoothly. Without regular updates your Smart-ID app can become outdated and therefore unsupported and unsafe. Automatic updates are the easiest way to ensure your app is up to date and is secure.

For your protection, from July 2019 Smart-ID will block the use of outdated apps. If this happens to you you’ll see an error message explaining the issue every time you try to use Smart-ID.

To fix it, simply download and install the latest version of the app, which will always be available for free in Google Play and AppStore. If, for some reason, you are unable to update the app, please contact our customer service for further assistance.

Top tip! To make sure all your key apps work and are kept safe, allow automatic updates on your smart device. We also recommend that you use only the latest version of Smart-ID app to register a new Smart-ID account.
