Frequently Asked Questions

You cannot get Smart-ID app on newer Huawei phones if you do not have access to Google Play. The Smart-ID app is currently unavailable in Huawei AppGallery and there are no alternatives to Google Play available at the moment.

In order for you to download and install Smart-ID, you need to be able to access Google Play. Newer Huawei phones do not allow it and use Huawei App Gallery instead – which is not one of the distribution channels for Smart-ID.

We are aware of the situation and are currently evaluating whether to publish Smart-ID in the App Gallery in the future.

If you are using an older model of Huawei and/or already have Smart-ID installed (or you’re able to download and install it through Play Store), you can continue using Smart-ID as normal. This restriction only applies to newer phones with no access to Google Play.
